Some of you know who she is...
Sara got tired of seeing/having panty lines, chopped the feet off the end of her pantyhose and created a business called Spanx. She started her company 12 years ago with $5,000 of her own money and has self-funded ever since. In case you haven't heard: Sara was just named the youngest woman ever to appear on the World Billionaire list! Yep, at age 41, her company is a billion dollar business! What makes this really special is that she did not inherit money or her company, is a woman, is just 41, is an Atlantan, and seems to be a great gal. So if you want a business role model for your girls (or boys) tell em about Sara. As she puts it, "Life as an entrepreneur hasn't been all sunshine and roses." She says at an early age she learned not to be beaten down by challenges. "With every obstacle that has happened to me, my brain immediately says, 'Where is the hidden blessing?' In starting a business and growing a business, everyday is learning how to manage obstacles." Yeah, Sara, true, so true! My kind of woman! Let's celebrate her achievement (you can see her on the cover of Forbes magazine), our own achievements, and believing we can be all we want to be. Sara did. Sara does: She plans to now go public with Spanx so she can grow more internationally. After all, NO ONE wants panty lines—not even men, according to Sara!
