The Mystery at Cape Cod

What kid doesn't like a mystery set at a beach?!  Bob and I spent some time on Cape Cod when he was in the Army Reserves and left me at Buzzard's Bay while he was on duty.  I fell in love with Sandwich glass, the Woods Hole Oceanic Institute, all the quaint little sandy towns, and more that make up the famous Cape Cod.  If you can't go to the beach, the next best thing is to read about the beach, the coast, especially if a mystery is involved.  The Mystery at Cape Cod should make kids wonder, "What's a cape" What's a cod?  And so is this a fish in an overcoat?"  Well, that sounds like something silly Grant would say, anyway.  I think I'll keep this mystery a mystery for those brave enough to read it.  Any takers, kids?!

Workshop Wrap-Up!

 We had some talented writers turn out for Carole's writing workshop Monday night - including a 14-year old writer who has submitted over 31 chapters of fan fiction to his favorite website!  Carole passed along gobs of information and tips about how writers can build a framework for a book to make writing more

I have been blogging in on Clyattville, Georgia (near Valdosta) Elementary School's Gifted students' blog...hosted by teacher Lynn Tessin.  They are avid Carole Marsh Mystery fans. DO..DOOT DO DA DOOT...DO DOOT DO DA DOOT...

That's the sound of reveille, if you couldn't figure it out! In Gallopade's notorious/illustrious New Product Development department we have embarked on a serious mission:  the production of a Civil War series, and it ain't yo' granny's Civil War books!  We have an entire team in place, though no one seems to be here today except me (maybe that's why I make the big bucks?)  You'll  hear more as we go along but I am excited about telling about "Tha Wah" in a dramatic, engaging, maybe even a little funky new way that will get readers from 4th to 8th grade to be fascinated and flabbergasted.  Many books paint the Civil War as America's "glory days"...and as we well know, war is not glorious!  So I hope there are many worthy messages to share, an unbiased look at all things Civil War, many incredible characters to meet, and so much more.  Ok, back to my new command post!
